Lets talk Microneedling

A microneedling treatment creates micro-injuries to the skin’s surface:
• Skin’s natural wound healing process stimulates collagen and elastin production
• Healed skin results in visible improvement and rejuvenation
• Minimally invasive, minimal downtime
• Safe for all skin tones

CBD Microneedling

Microneedling or Microchanneling is a non-ablative, non-invasive aesthetic procedure designed to rejuvenate the skin, maximize product penetration, and maximize the release of growth factors. In combination with CBD, this procedure will naturally produce collagen, regenerate healing, break down scar tissue, and release growth factors. It re-educates the skin to look and act younger while fighting off free radicals.

Abdomen Microneedling

Do you have a scar that you would like to significantly reduce in appearance?  Surgical scars–even when healed well–can look raised and rough and who wants that in Arizona especially during the summer. Microneedling can improve the texture of surgical scars as well as stretch marks.  Newer scars often show better results than older ones.  You should notice your skin looking a little firmer, a little brighter with microneedling whether we are targeting your scar from a surgery or simply stretch marks you'd like to fade.

Am I a candidate

If you have any of the following you'd like to treat:

  • Acne scars

  • Dark spots

  • Large pores

  • Melasma

  • Sagging skin

  • Scars due to surgery or an injury

  • Stretch marks

  • Uneven skin texture and tone

  • Wrinkles and fine lines

Then we can help you.  Microneedling is safe for all skin tones. It works by stimulating your body to make collagen. This is why you may also hear the name “collagen induction therapy.”

Although microneedling is a great option for any skin types, it may not be the best option for everyone.

Microneedling

What to Expect

Your provider will apply a numbing cream to the areas being treated.  This will sit on the area for about 30 minutes.  During this time we will discuss after care, further appointments and what to expect during your treatment.

Once numbed, the insertion of very fine, short, sterilized needles using an electric device are then pulsed into the skin for the start of your skin rejuvenation journey. When the skin feels these pinpricks, your body will naturally rush to heal them.  The damage helps stimulate your skin’s healing process, so it produces more more elasticity and collagen, giving you the more plumped and a more youthful appearance.

You might feel warmth or a scratching sensation on your face once the microneedling starts. Some people feel discomfort if the needles are near bony areas, such as your cheekbones. Deep microneedling might cause a little bleeding.  Once completed, you may have some discomfort temporarily, swelling can occur, and redness is likely.  in order to help sooth the skin and reduce redness we then apply a Lipid Recovery Mask by Epicutis.  You will then be put under LED Light while the mask sits on your skin.  This combination truly helps aid in healing and discomfort and has been proven to reduce redness.  You have left over serum from your mask that will be sent home with you that you can apply for the next few days.

  • Anti-inflammatory medicines such as Advil, ibuprofen, and Motrin should also be stopped 3-5 days before treatment.

  • Please stop taking any blood thinning supplements or medications 7 days prior to treatment.

  • Avoid alcohol and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment, as these may contribute to increased swelling, bruising, and irritation. Limit your caffeine intake.

  • Arrive with a clean, make up free face, and be ready for a complete skin rejuvenation experience.

Aftercare Instruction

First 24 Hours

The skin will feel tight, dry, and sensitive to the touch.  Much like a sunburn.  Your skin will need a "chill out" period the first few days.  Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for one week. DO NOT ice face or use arnica or bromeliad. These agents may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.  Tylenol can be used for any discomfort.  You may apply the rest of the lipid serum from your mask.  If you run out, you may also purchase more Recovery Mask before you leave the spa or later on.

Days 2-3

After 24 hours you are able to apply mineral SPF.  Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating. Avoid jacuzzi, sauna, or steam baths for 24 hours after treatment due to open pores, or up to 48 hours if inflammation exists.  Use ONLY mineral Make-Up post-procedure and only if you feel you must.  Try to sleep on your back with head of bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain.

Days 5-7

Peeling may start 3-5 days after treatment. You will notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. Do not pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin! As your skin begins to flake off it is important to KEEP IT MOIST. For extra dry skin, apply moisturizer every two hours if needed.  If you feel the need to peel off skin, apply a moisturizer to help the urge.  This is another good time to apply lipid serum.

1 Week Post

You may restart your regular skincare products and retinoids once your skin is no longer irritated and inflamed. Many patients have noticed continued skin improvement for months following treatment.

  • For best results, we recommend follow-up and repeat treatments in 4-6 weeks and a series of 3-5 treatments depending on your skincare goals and desired results.

****Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for two weeks. After 24 hours, always use a full spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or above. When exposed to the sun, wear a hat and apply sunscreen every two hours.****
